Retaining Wall Foundation (April 2007)

Aaron O'Conner, my neighbor, helped me set the forms. We spent one day getting the forms from a rental company. I was planning on using the simons forms (metal) but found out that my step footings were poured incorrectly for this type of form. So we rented the old forms that we used on the garage foundation. We had to cut a lot of plywood to make it work but everything seemed to turn out great. Originally I was going to hire this whole job out but like most contractors the bailed on me. It took 11/2 days to set the forms and get them ready to pour. We poured Yesterday (Friday) Today we removed the forms.

Again I have rented an excavator for busting up and removing the concrete steps at the West side of the house. Once this is done I will beginning excavation for the water line to the garage and also for the footings to the new retaining wall. In one day I took 9 loads of busted up concrete to the recycling place.

March 2007 Roofing
